Dynamic Shading System & 3D Printed Textile
Location: Autodesk, San Francisco Technology Center @Pier 9.

Final Prototype
We see the shading system as the architecture skin. To humanize the building. We designed the "RESPIRE" to let it breath. It has dramatic visual effect that adds on the beauty of this form, controllable moving direction and distance and it could transform from 2D to 3d, fully covered to quite exposed.
Process
STEP1: Ideate & Ensure the Final Design, Figure out Assembly Techniques
STEP2: Insert CAD Cutting flies & start water jet cutting
STEP3: Mockup Testing
STEP4: Using Water jet to cut 2D Geometric Drawings on two pieces of Steel Sheets
STEP5: Laser cut and spray paint two pieces of wooden structure that used to support the steel sheets.
STEP6: Glue the Wood Structure on the back of the Steel Piece.
STEP7: ASSEMBLING... Ordering the metal compo- nents: L Bracket, Telescoping Slides, Head Screws and connecting all pieces
